Toronto, ON – September 08, 2026 – New updates to MyDirectPlan (MDP) are helping people and families across Ontario manage Passport funding more easily, with clearer access to budget information, fewer administrative steps, and greater confidence in making choices that support their everyday lives.
What's new:
MyDirectPlan is a digital platform that helps Passport and Special Services at Home recipients and their families manage their funding, track spending, submit claims, and keep important information organized. The latest updates make it easier to see and manage Passport funding information, with a simpler, more accessible experience across web and mobile.
“Digital tools are most meaningful when they make life easier for the people who use them,” said Brad Saunders, Chief Executive Officer, Community Living Toronto. “These updates will help reduce the time people and families spend managing administrative processes, giving them more time to focus on what matters most - pursuing their goals and participating meaningfully in their communities.”
For many people with developmental disabilities, Passport funding provides important opportunities to access supports, participate in community life, build independence, and pursue personal goals.
“People and families should be able to spend their time pursuing their goals, not navigating complicated administrative processes,” adds Chris Brillinger, Executive Director, Family Service Toronto. “These improvements make funding information clearer and easier to manage, supporting greater choice, independence and confidence.”
The updated MyDirectPlan experience is designed with accessibility and flexibility in mind, allowing users to access their information through both web and mobile options.
“Through funding support from the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) and collaboration with PassportONE and Passport Agencies, we have been able to simplify key parts of the process and provide easier access to important funding information. These enhancements also give people greater flexibility and confidence in managing their funding,” added Shawn Ratnasingam, Manager, Product Management, Community Living Toronto.
The improvements represent another step toward more accessible, responsive and person-directed services for people with developmental disabilities and their families. Community Living Toronto continues to advocate for the supports and investments people need to live the lives they choose, including advocating for eligible individuals to have access to their full Passport allocation.
