New Investment Strengthens Stability for Developmental Services Sector

Toronto, ON, March 27, 2026: Yesterday, the Government of Ontario tabled its 2026-2027 Budget, “A Plan to Protect Ontario”

Key Points of the Budget Include:

  • $210B capital plan over 10 years to build highways, hospitals, transit, and community infrastructure, including $37B in 2026–2027
  • Up to $130,000 in HST relief for new homebuyers, alongside $2.2B in joint federal-provincial housing tax relief
  • $1.1B in small business tax relief over three years by cutting the small business Corporate Income Tax (CIT) rate from 2% to 2.2%
  • Major investments in services, including nearly $186M in new funding for autism services, $3.4B for primary care, and $64B in health infrastructure over the next decade.
