MEDIA ADVISORY – Community Living Toronto Celebrates 75 Years of Belonging!

Community Living Toronto (CLTO) is hosting a breakfast open house launch event to kick off 75th anniversary celebrations.

CLTO is reflecting on how far it has come over the past 75 years through stories that show the importance of people with an intellectual disability truly feeling that they belong in their community.

The Anniversary event will feature remarks from government officials, key community partners, people supported, art from our Creative Village Studio, and more. Together with guests, we will share stories of  “Belonging” and it being central to our past, present, and future work.

About Community Living Toronto
Community Living Toronto has been a source of support for people with an intellectual disability and their families since 1948. We offer a wide range of services including respite, person-directed planning, employment supports, supported living, and community-based activities. We are proud to support over 4,000 individuals and their families in more than 80 locations across Toronto.

The “community living movement” began with families who wanted their children to live in the community, rather than institutions. Today, we continue to advocate for inclusive communities and support the rights and choices of people with an intellectual disability.
