Work at Shadow Lake Centre
Every summer, we employ over 80 college, university and high school students to work at our camp. A solid team ensures that our guests have a safe and truly memorable camp experience.
Counsellors are assigned to work with guests in small groups. Our staff-to-camper ratio ranges from 1:1 to 1:5. There are a limited number of spaces available to guests requiring either 1:1 or 1:2 supervision.
In addition to our camp counsellors, we have activity leaders, lifeguards, crafts instructors, healthcare workers, meal planners, maintenance, and housekeeping staff. All our staff are supervised by our camp coordinators and counselling supervisors.

The Program Manager of Specialized Services is accountable for providing leadership, support, and oversight for the day-to-day operations for one or more residential locations that support youth and adults with complex behavioural needs, operated by Community Living Toronto under the Specialized Resource Home model. Responsibilities include planning and development of programs in their portfolio adhering and promoting the use of bio/psycho/social model of support, while monitoring and adhering to all levels of fiscal management. Manages a team of program supervisors within a 24/7 work environment, providing direction, assigning work tasks and projects, and ensuring staff perform optimally in accordance with their job description. Ensures the goals and objectives of the organization are met and that services and supports meet the highest professional standards, respect the dignity and rights of the people served, and meet the needs of all stakeholders including the individuals served, their families, government ministries, funders and community partners. Responds to escalated inquiries, requests, and/or concerns in a timely manner to mitigate the risk of harming the associations reputation. Collaborates/partners with key stakeholders including government officials, healthcare and other service professionals, and personnel within Community Living Toronto and other organizations. The Program Manager of Specialized Services needs to have an understanding of the complexities working in a multidisciplinary leadership team with an understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Behaviour support plans, clinical supports, Licensing and QAM requirements.
Identifies the needs of individuals supported and delivers supports and programs consistent with life plans in order to enhance their capacity to function in all aspects of community living.

Supporting individuals in all aspects of daily living while working as a part of an inter-professional team, including an ABA lead and Behavioural Services Consultant, to directly implement all aspects of the behavioural intervention/support plan. A strong emphasis is placed on building capacity to function in the community.
