Accessible Canada Act & Survey

Employment and Social Development Canada’s (ESDC) Accessibility Secretariat has engaged Quorus Consulting Group to conduct a survey measuring Canadians’ awareness and experiences with accessibility and disability issues. The results of the survey will be used to help shape future federal accessibility policy.

Reaching out to 86 people on social assistance, The survey found that respondents worry that people denied disability will “fall through the cracks” and “cost the system more” due to using more costly emergency services such as police, ambulance, hospitals, shelters and prisons. Inaugural Inclusion Mission Sets off for Israel

TORONTO, Ontario, Canada - Today, leaders and supporters from disability-serving organizations from across Canada begin a nine-day Canada-Israel Inclusion Mission to learn about ground-breaking Israeli models of accessibility and service provision. This is the first Canadian mission to Israel focused on disability and inclusion.
